Rearcross U-12's travelled to Nenagh and turned in a gallant performance before losing out on a narrow one nil score line to Nenagh Celtic. The game was played at a hectic pace throughout in dazzling sunshine as Paul Nolan fired just wide for the visiting side with a fine shot after two minutes of play. Nenagh Celtic counter attacked and Cathal Kennedy had to be alert to thwart the danger with a good save. A strong defensive display throughout saw Brian Nolan block down late in the half to leave the sides scoreless at the break. An action packed second period saw Andy Kinnane come close for Rearcross with a good strike seconds after the restart, Nenagh Celtic then weren't far away with efforts from Adam Donnellan and Roberto Ipsalat. It was end to end as Patrick Dawson's free kick floated over the Nenagh Celtic crossbar midway through the half. Rearcross defending sternly in the remaining minutes with Roberto Ipsalat threatening for the home side, however it was Adam Brennan who snatched the lead five minutes from time with a well worked goal. Rearcross pressed hard to the end and were unlucky not to snatch a share of the spoils with Grace O'Toole coming closest with a low effort, however Nenagh Celtic just about held on for a hard earned win. Best for Rearcross on the day were defensive trio of Danny Poyzer, Paul Nolan and Brian Nolan.
